1. The first digit indicates the Material: 1 - Gut Plain
2. The second digit indicates the Gauge: 0 - 1/0 USP
3. The last two digits indicate the Needle Length in millimetres: 40 - 40mm
4. The characters indicate the Needle Type: TF - Taper Fine

The first digit of the Product Code indicates the type of thread. Each type of material has its own unique number which is used for coding.

The second digit of the Product Code indicates the gauge of the thread.

The last two digits of the Product Code indicate the needle length in millimetres.

The characters in the Product Code indicate the type of needle.
